The Person-Centred Approaches Program is a program of professional development, specifically focused on preparing the non-government disability sector for the new world under the NDIS. It aims to build the capacity of organisations to work in person-centred and individualised ways, embedding a human rights approach to all practice within the sector.

This training program is designed to educate disability support workers on what human rights are and how they can be applied practically day to day. The training can be found online on carecareers.
A Training Guide for Managers [ Word 68KB] has been developed to support managers and organisations to reinforce and build on disability support workers' understanding of human rights. It complements the e-learning program and may support a range of practices within an organisation. This may include; performance planning and appraisals; ongoing professional development; group training sessions or team meetings.
Adopting a human rights-based approach - Advice for Boards of disability service providers (Video)
Boards have a critical role to play in creating a human rights culture within their organisations. This 15-minute video explores the what, why and how of adopting human rights-based approaches. It includes interviews with people with disability, a CEO and Board Members.
Project Rights promotes a whole-of-organisation, human rights-based approach which supports organisations to achieve the culture change needed in the shift to personalised services and individualised funding.

The Change Room is a suite of tools and resources designed equip frontline managers with skills and techniques to support frontline staff to overcome barriers to change and manage the change around them. With these new skills frontline managers can facilitate positive growth within their organisation and amongst their staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for people with disability.
Progress for Providers for Managers is a readiness tool that enables managers to check their progress towards using person-centred approaches to create change and identifying what they are doing well and what requires improvement.
