Progress for Providers for Managers

Progress for Providers – Checking Your Progress in Using Person Centred Approaches (Managers)' is a self-assessment tool for front line managers to use individually and/or within their team.

Progress for Providers for Managers was first developed in the UK. The Australian version [PDF] [WORD] was funded by the NSW Department of Family and Community Services, Ageing, Disability and Home Care, through the NSW Industry Development Fund. It was developed by National Disability Services and Helen Sanderson Associates (Australia).

Supporting resources are available, including an Excel-based action planning tool [Excel 184kB] to assist frontline managers and/or organisations to save their results to compare progress over time or across teams.

NDS has also developed a resource that compares the Characteristics of Person Centred Organisations (Stephen Stirk and Helen Sanderson, 2012) with the NSW Disability Services Standards requirements, and how the Progress for Providers for Managers resource may support practice improvements (PDF 209KB, Word 31KB).
