WHS Training, Workshops and Seminars

Through the Disability Safe project, NDS developed a variety of online and face to face training programs that aim to increase knowledge and skill of you workforce in work health and safety practices.  The training is aimed at different positions within an organisation to assist you to implement a whole of organisation approach to safe work practices.

Face to Face Training

  • WHS Committee Training
    Designed specifically for the disability sector this course supports good practice in managing work, health and safety from a whole of organisation approach. It is conducted on site and suits newly elected safety committee members or health and safety representatives.
  • Manual Handling Training for Frontline Workers
    A full day course, individually tailored for and run at organisations. This course covers the legal requirements relating to hazardous manual tasks and provides an understanding of safe manual handling principles and the opportunity to apply these principles to key manual handling tasks within the disability sector.

Online Training
  • Leading WHS in the Disability Sector
    An online training course aimed at frontline managers and supervisors that outlines their work, health and safety obligations and best practice. This is now on the NDS Learning Portal www.learnanddevelop.nds.org.au.
  • WHS Online Training for Support Workers and Frontline Managers
    Topics include food safety, infection control, medication management, slip/trip/fall awareness, risk management and workplace bullying prevention.

Workshops and Seminars

WHS legislation or specific topics can be presented at your training venues at a time that suits you for a minimal fee.  Previously run face to face training can also be offered inhouse for organisations able to supply sufficient numbers to ensure cost benefits.
